THE DIET EXPERIMENT BEGINS

So, it has been a while since Ive updated. Last time I was about to start prepping for the British Finals, and I did start. However, 3 weeks into the diet I wasnt feeling motivated and decided not to go for it. I didnt want to do it half hearted, so no more competitions this year. Maybe next year.

So till now I have enjoyed a few holidays, still been training but have put a bit more meat on me. Although the scale have increased a bit, I am now comfortable in my own skin, which is the most important thing. However, it is soon time to start my diet project. I will start on Monday 5th of October and I will start off with the rebuild diet.
The first stage of this diet is removing all potentially inflammatory foods from your diet, giving your immune system the chance to calm down and your gut the chance to heal. Since the digestion take up a lot of our bodies energy, if we make our bodies use less energy by digestion, it will be easier for our bodies to detox, rebuild and have more energy in general.
It's quite a restrictive diet, but I believe it can be very powerful.

These foods will be removed:
  • Grains / Pseudo grains
  • Nuts
  • Dairy
  • Starch
  • Seed and Industrial oil
  • Soy
  • Nightsades
  • Eggs
  • Cocoa
  • Alcohol
  • Tobacco
  • Legumes
  • Caffeine
  • Processed sugar

I will post more specific guidelines about the diet when we get closer to the start date.

When doing the diets I will tell you how I feel, what the scale says and also how it is to follow the diets. Before and after pictures. Also the cost of the diets, which I know it is a very important factor for a lot of people. And of course what I consume every day.
My aim with this project is to get a better understanding of the different lifestyles, how the body and mind react to certain foods and also what is optimal for weightloss and muscle building. And of course the most imporant question - how easy is it to maintain?

If you are curious on any of the diets and want to give it a go, please join me. I will post guidelines for every diet before I start it. You can also email me on: dinacelina@gmail.com if you want help during the diet or have any other enquiries.

FRUIT POPS

Its already Thursday folks. And I do not know where the time went. Ive been having some lovely days off with my man, went away for a little get away to Lochside House Hotel and Spa, had some nice wine and food, spa treatments and just simply relaxed. Indeed needed.

If you are as crazy about Ice Cream as I am, and do not want to consume all the calories they contain, I highly recommend for you to try these fruit pops out!

You can add whatever fruit of choice, 1-2 tsp truvia(or other sweetener) and fresh lemon and/or lime juice(I added 2 lemons and 2 limes). Until desired taste.

These ones I made with watermelon, cherries and added the rest of my raspberry coulis I made last week. Pop in the freezer and enjoy on a hot summer day. If youre lucky enough not to live in Scotland ;)

Stay happy!

THE POWER OF FIBRE AND PROTEIN

Its Sunday folks, one of my favourite days of the week. Especially if you are hangover free!

Today I made a very simple nutritious breakfast. Mixed greek yoghurt with vanilla protein powder, blended in with the rest of my raspberry coulis from yesterday and top upped with raspberries, chia seeds and coconut. This meal is high in protein, fibre and good fats. Did you know protein and fibre are thermogenic? Which simply means it produces heat and need more energy to break down and uses stored energy. Which mean it gives a boots to the metabolism and are fat burning. Perfect start of the day if you ask me.

CRAB & AVOCADO CREAM SALAD

So update on my foot. The doctor pretty much told me there is nothing you can do about it than just wait until its healed and take painkillers. Both a relief and bit annoyed as it can take up to 6 weeks to heal.

Anyway, Ive got an amazing new recipe for you! Its quick, its easy and requires no cooking time. And the best part, its absolutely amazing! You have to try it!

Crab & Avocado Cream Salad:

1 Avocado
1 Fresh Jalapeno Chilli(Other chilli will also work)
1 clove Garlic
1 small hand full parsley
1 tbs White Wine Vinegar
1/2 fresh Lime Juice
1 generous tbs Creme Fraiche
1 tin Carb meat (or if you have fresh even better)
Salt and pepper to taste

Add all ingredients except the crab in the food processor.
Mix for up to 1 min to get a creamy texture.

Add in your crab meat and fold it in the avocado cream.

Mix up a leafy salad with some cherry tomatoes or desired vegetables, drizzle some extra virgin olive oil and some salt and pepper and top op with your crab and avocado cream.

This meal is rich in good fats and protein. Enjoy.

SUGAR FREE RASPBERRY COULIS

Happy Saturday everyone! Having a chilled one again this weekend. And its so nice. No gym today, as Im trying to detrain my body a bit and maintain my figure until I start prepping again, when it will be back to a lot of hard workouts. So far this week, Ive been to the gym 4 times lifting(1 hour) and one day 45 min cardio. Eating high protein, and a lot of fruit and vegetables, some carbs and some treats. Might do some cardio later on today on my spinning bike. Just because I enjoy it.
As well I injured my foot a few weeks back when I was in Tenerife. And its not getting better, so Im gonna take a trip to the minor injury clinic today and see whats up with it. Because of this as well, my leg workouts are very limited as I cant put much pressure on my foot.

Today I made sugar free raspberry coulis for my protein pancakes. I absolutely love raspberries, and this coulis is amazing. I added:

100 g raspberries
1 heaped teaspoon of truvia
Some fresh lemon juice

In the food processor until desired consistency and top up on whatever you want. You can also add more truvia or any other sweetener to make it sweeter. But I like the natural acidic taste of the raspberries so 1 tsp was enough for me. For this recipe youll have a lot left of the coulis, unless you use it all. I used the same pancake recipe as Ive posted before, but added 1 tablespoon of desiccated coconut in the mixture as well.
